The Role
As an ECC Veterinary Nurse at NSVH, you’ll be hands‑on with advanced emergency and critical care nursing, working alongside ECC Specialists and Veterinarians in a busy referral environment.
You’ll be involved in:
- Triage and stabilisation of emergency and critical patients
- Advanced ECC procedures including blood transfusions, mechanical ventilation, and central/PICC/arterial catheter placement
- High-level patient monitoring and trend analysis using Smart Flow
- Playing an active role in the ongoing development and growth of our ECC department
- Delivering calm, compassionate care during some of the most critical moments for patients and their families
About You
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience, with ECC or referral experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team‑first mindset
- Ability to stay focused and adaptable in high‑pressure situations
- Additional ECC training or a strong desire to upskill is highly regarded
