The Role

Reporting to the Civil Discipline Manager you will be given the opportunity to lead the Sydney CBD Civil team. You will be involved in and manage all aspects of concept and detailed civil design and documentation on a diverse range of projects, whilst taking responsibility for your projects and your team.

The Responsibilities

• Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders as necessary;
• Have an ability to think strategically;
• A willingness to go “the extra mile”;
• Extensive technical, product and industry knowledge;
• Be skilled in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring a team;
• Produce, review and check designs in accordance with relevant design standards and codes;
• Deliver design calculations, reports and drawings;
• Provide a comprehensive civil engineering design service to clients;
• Ensure successful delivery of projects;
• Manage numerous projects to program and budget;
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment;
• Prepare project briefs, scopes of work and fees;

The Requirements

• Engineering degree in civil engineering;
• Minimum 10 year’s post-graduate engineering consultancy experience;
• Chartered Civil Engineer or close to achieving Chartered status;
• A self‑motivated, technically strong and competent individual able to work independently and also lead and direct a team of engineers and drafters;
• Able to build and maintain effective client relationships;
• Excellent communication and report writing skills;
• Road design in accordance with Austroads and best practice. Geometric design and pavement engineering;
• Competency and solid experience with our preferred software packages: 12d, HEC-RAS, SIDRA, DRAINS, MUSIC, Autotrack, and CIRCLY.
