An exciting opportunity is available within the Compliance and Environmental Health Department at the City of Whittlesea. This is a permanent, full-time position.

City of Whittlesea Animal Management Officers investigate and enforce breaches of both state and local government legislation. These can include : Local Laws, the Domestic Animals Act 1994, the Domestic Animal Regulations 2015, and the Impounding Livestock Act 1994. They provide consistent, professional information and advice to internal and external stakeholders and ensure an appropriate balance between education and enforcement.

We need dynamic employees who are passionate about continuous improvement and ready to take on new challenges. This role will have a primary focus on ensuring compliance throughout the municipality with regards to Local Laws and Road Rules.

About you

  • Have a sound knowledge of the Domestic Animals Act 1994, the Impounding Livestock Act 1994, Domestic Animal Regulations 2015, and Infringements Act 2006.
  • Have prior experience in a Victorian Local Government enforcement role.
  • Have, or willingness to obtain, a Certificate IV in Government.
  • Be confident working with new and existing technologies.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience delivering an exceptional standard of customer service in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Have integrity of the highest standard.
  • Be enthusiastic about change in the workplace.
