At Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) , we’re proud to be the voice of Queensland’s commercial fruit, vegetable, and nut growers - and we’ve been doing it for over 100 years.

We’re here to back our growers every step of the way. Whether it’s lobbying for better policies, making sense of workplace relations, or delivering hands-on support through our delivery arm Growcom , everything we do is about building a stronger, smarter, and more sustainable horticulture industry.

From navigating compliance and climate challenges to unlocking new opportunities for innovation and growth, we deliver real-world solutions with a human touch. Our team combines deep industry knowledge with a practical mindset — and we’re not afraid to get our boots dirty if it means helping growers thrive.

If you’re passionate about the future of fresh produce, we’d love to work with you.

About the role

As our Head of Memberships & Partnerships, you’ll be right in the mix – building trusted relationships, securing new opportunities, and strengthening the future of Queensland’s horticulture industry. One day you might be pitching a strategic partnership over coffee, the next you’re reviewing member feedback or hosting stakeholders at an industry event.

You’ll lead two key areas : membership engagement and partnership development – both essential to growing our community and driving long-term sustainability.

Relationships are your superpower – and impact is your goal.

Your focus areas :

Driving QFVG’s membership strategy – leading acquisition, retention and engagement

Building and managing sponsorships, donations, and strategic partnerships that align with our mission

Representing QFVG at industry events, forums and functions, growing our visibility and network

Overseeing member communications, advertising partnerships, and supporter programs like Fruit and Vegetable News and QFVG Supporters

How your week might look when your hard at work

Mondays we get together to share information and ideas. You may have an idea as to how we can design our welcome packs to include all the information more easily, be pitching an update to our CRM. Or maybe you’re on the hunt to find a sunglass supplier who would love to give our members a discount.

Tuesday you may be having a meeting with a supply chain business who wants to engage with our members in an authentic way. You’d be working through their needs and matching them with our members to come up with some win wins.

Wednesday may be a day of planning with our Head of Engagement and Advocacy and Communications Manager cooking up the next quarter’s planning of touch points.

Thursday may be meetings with project staff to ensure we are collectively delivering on our contracts with our partners.

Friday may be a day on the phone engaging authentically with members to seek to understand their priorities and identify potential solutions or you may be planting pineapples in Queen Street Park for an activation, who knows?!

Why you’ll love working here

A collaborative, purpose-driven team that backs each other

Work that genuinely changes lives and communities

Competitive salary packaging to reflect your experience

The occasional pineapple planting in Queen Street Park (we weren’t kidding about that)

About you

You’re a natural relationship builder who knows how to turn a conversation into a collaboration. With a background in partnerships, stakeholder engagement or business development, you’re just as comfortable pitching to a boardroom as you are chatting with growers in the field.

Here’s what you’ll bring :

A solid track record in partnerships, business development or stakeholder engagement, ideally in agriculture, sustainability, NFP or government

A strong understanding of Queensland’s horticulture supply chains and what makes them tick (or a curiosity to learn our industry, fast!)

Standout relationship skills – you’re a negotiator, communicator and connector all rolled into one

Confidence with contracts, CRM systems and using data to track and report on program success

The ability to present with influence to boards and committees, backed by commercial insight
