About the opportunity

Join the team at Gold Coast Private Hospital as a Food Services Assistant! We're looking for experienced professionals to bring their skills to our team on a casual basis. If you take pride in your work, possess a friendly & positive attitude, have experience in food services within a healthcare environment or hospitality and enjoy providing exceptional customer service, this role is for you!

This role requires the successful candidate to be available to work on a 7-day rotating roster, AM and PM shifts.

• AM shift – 5 : 45am – 14.30pm
• PM shifts - 14 : 30pm – 21 : 00pm and 16 : 30pm – 21 : 00pm

With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24 / 7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

As a Food Services Assistant, your responsibilities will include but not limited to :

• Provide exceptional customer / patient service by preparing and serving food throughout the facility / designated area, including, setting up, plating, and distributing food and beverages and by participating in food safety processes
• Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required
• Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture, communicating and offering help to team members and liaising with other staff to create an experience that makes a difference
• Be comfortable working with equipment such as food trolleys and carrying food trays

Essential Criteria :

• Authority to Work in Australia
• Experience in Healthcare / hospitality (preferred)
• Working with Children check (if relevant)
• Commitment to service excellence
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Keen attention to detail
• Work well independently and within a team
• Available for on-call shifts
