Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting role available for a Service Manager for our Australian business.
Reporting to the MD and forming part of the Management team in Australia, the Service Manager has overall responsiblity for the smooth and efficient operation of the Service Department, ensuring that all Technicians are fully engaged, and that the service business is promoted across the business and sales targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Role + Responsibilities
- Oversee management of the service operation, workshop activities and helpdesk
- WHS - ensure WHS compliance for Technicians visiting site i.e., staff require proper clothing and training on potential hazards. Manage and participate in WHS committee
- Provide support to all service employees including State-based Technicians
- Monitoring and assisting with Service admin and coordination activities - provide guidance and support on pricing / orders and mentoring figures on a daily / weekly / EOM basis. Provide advice on product specifications and guidance to Internal Sales on level of service involvement
- Financial budgeting and control. Create target for Service division and set budgets. Work with the Finance Director to put together budget in a professional manner. Reporting to corporate HQ as required
- Conduct employee appraisal and development plans for employees on a regular basis and in accordance with Company policy
- Liaise with HR Manager in relation to staff recruitment and employee relation matters
- Ensure State offices are suitably equipped with necessary equipment to support service initiatives
- Assistance with coordination of service technicians and any external service providers
- Attendance at service manager meetings overseas as directed by the MD
- Maintain skills database of all technicians and ensure adequate technical coverage and support for the installed base of E+H products
- Service contracts management. Overall responsibility for developing and securing service contracts and principal point of contact for contract negotiation
- Undertake business development activities for the service department
- Qualification + Profile
- Previous experience in a similar role within a Service department
- Strong technical background in instrumentation, control systems and process plants
- Degree qualified ideal
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in collaborating with other departments and creating a positive working environment
- Proven leadership skills and experience with the ability to lead and develop a team
- Sound communication and networking skills
- Demonstrated success in achieving business plan objectives
- Resourceful and capable of working within tight deadlines
- Excellent computer skills
- Good presentation skills, communication, and interpersonal skills to be able to work "face to face" with major clients
