The Medical Unit sits within the Division of Critical and Emergent Care. The Medical Unit provides a service which aims to achieve optimal patient outcomes, both in terms of quality patient care and appropriate length of stay. The unit offers a 24-hour, 7 day a week service covering the needs of patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise through clinical leadership relevant to the specialty of Acute Stroke in the Rockhampton Hospital. The Clinical Nurse Stroke Coordinator provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator, and wider multi‑disciplinary health care team. The CN Stroke Coordinator supports the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Acute Stroke nursing.
