An exciting opportunity exists for a Residential Centre Assistant to join the Community, Industry and Capacity, Work and Education, Reintegration team in the Nunyara Community Offender Support Program. The role of the Residential Centre Assistant is to Provide support and assistance to the residents of a Community Offender Support Program Centre (COSP) and facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the aims and objectives of the program.

As a highly motivated Residential Centre Assistant, this role will see you responsible for but not limited to the following.

• Implement individual Support Plans as required and record significant interactions with residents in case notes on OIMS.
• Mentor and monitor residents to ensure compliance with the program objectives, the requirements of the COSP and assist residents to develop the living skills required for independent living in the community.
• Mentor residents in relation to pro-social interactions with staff and other residents so these skills flow on for living independently in the community.
• Support the residents so they can carry out their duties assigned outside of the COSP grounds in a satisfactory manner whilst learning new skills in order to develop independent life skills.
• Transport residents to and from external venues to facilitate the effective outcome of the COSP program.
• Maintain residents’ records appropriately and confidentially advising the COSP Manager of the progress of residents in order to create a collaborative working environment.
• Resolve critical situations relating to security, health and wellbeing of residents to ensure duty of care responsibilities of the COSP are fulfilled and safety of staff, other residents and the community is ensured.
• Undertake general maintenance duties within the facility and escalate major maintenance issues to other relevant areas within CSNSW.

Please note this position will require to work shift work including nights, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster.

Essential requirements

• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to attain within 3 months.
• Current driver’s licence and have a willingness/ability to drive within NSW.
