North Parmelia Primary School (PS) is situated in the north-east corner of the city of Kwinana. The current enrolment is 298 students. The community is diverse in nature, with families from many cultures and backgrounds. What is common is the community focus on the well-being of our children. The Role
We are seeking an upper primary teacher who is experienced in the planning, delivery and assessment of Explicit Direct Instruction lessons. They should show the ability to effectively cater to the diverse learning needs of students, including those with challenging behaviours and diagnosed special needs, via differentiated content delivery, the use of engagement norms, and strong relationships with students. Teachers effectively deliver Direct Instruction programs, deliberately teach social-emotional wellbeing, and are actively involved in strong pastoral care processes to ensure positive outcomes for all students.
We are seeking an applicant who possesses high quality teaching skills and knowledge. They will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators. We are developing a culture of classroom coaching and collaborative teams to support professional development and student outcomes. The successful applicant will ideally have the aptitude for this philosophy and embrace the developing pedagogical practices of the school.
