Accounts Manager

Our client, a very successful commercial services company in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Manager to join their growing team based in Balcatta. This is a permanent, full-time position for someone with strong accounting knowledge, preferably with experience in the construction industry, who can take ownership of the company’s financial operations.

• Managing day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Preparing and analysing monthly financial statements and reports
• Monitoring customer invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances
• Processing vendor payments and ensuring timely and accurate invoice management
• Coordinating and processing bi-weekly payroll, including timesheet tracking for field staff
• Monitoring cash flow and managing company budgets and forecasts
• Maintaining financial records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Preparing and submitting tax lodgements in coordination with external accountants
• Supporting project managers with job costing, budget tracking, and financial analysis
• Reconciling bank and credit card statements monthly
• Implementing and improving internal financial controls and systems
• Coordinating with insurance companies, suppliers, and subcontractors as required
• Completing other ad hoc tasks to support the finance team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
• Proficiency in Xero and Aroflo is preferable
• Strong knowledge of payroll, A/R, A/P, and general bookkeeping
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills with high attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of job costing and construction billing is a plus
• Familiarity with construction project management software and local tax regulations is advantageous
