About the Opportunity

Exciting opportunity to join our SHE (Safety Health & Environment) team working to support our IHG business. Your role will support SHE initiatives risk reduction and incident responses to ensure best practice and alignment with legislative requirements.

This role can ideally be based at any of our locations on the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane North and involves regular travel and extensive driving to multiple sites or locations as part of the job responsibilities.

In this Role

  • SHE Support & Coordination : Assist the SHE Manager Qld in implementing SHE strategies and initiatives across sites and ensure continuous improvement of compliance frameworks like Site SHE Management Plans and Traffic Management Plans.
  • Coaching & Development : Use current skills to coach site leaders on activities such as SHE engagement, critical risk reviews, injury management, and general safety, health, and environmental matters.
  • Risk Management & Assessment : Collaborate with site teams to review and assess Site Risk Registers, develop risk reduction plans, and support risk assessments and hazard reporting.
  • Proactive Risk Reduction : Promote activities that support risk reduction, such as hazard reporting and managing change processes, and monitor adherence to safety policies through site observations.
  • Communication & Engagement : Ensure effective communication of SHE information, promote incident reporting, and participate in SHE and Injury Management meetings, training, and alignment with local events.
  • Performance Management : Ensure timely Evotix data entry and maintain SHE documentation in alignment with SHE Management System frameworks, monitoring compliance trends and leading indicators.
  • Audits & Inspections : Participate in or conduct SHE audits and inspections, ensuring effective implementation of safety activities and sharing SHE information across sites.
  • Team Support & Collaboration : Work closely with the SHE Manager to build a cohesive support team and collaborate with leadership to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and improvement initiatives.

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in WHS
  • ICAM Investigation
  • Sound understanding of a manufacturing / warehouse / retail environments
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organisational & time management skills
  • Strong problem solving & decision-making skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and team orientated
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
