Overview
Myer is looking for a Category Manager to join the Entertainment business and drive the execution of the Myer merchandise strategy. The Entertainment category is a key area of strategic importance for Myer and we are looking for someone to provide leadership and direction around all aspects of the business including range sign off, sourcing, inventory, supplier performance and financial outcomes. Strong proven leadership skills are essential, as you will lead a large team to ensure that the business strategy is delivered.

Lead team in sourcing, range builds & negotiationsBuild a strategy to secure national and international brandsEnsuring the seasonal range is well balanced and aligned to the business planEnsuring the supplier and product reference data is maintained in the teamDeveloping and managing strategies for Pricing / Margins and CompetitorsDeveloping Strategies for National Brand VendorsManaging financial performance including post-season analysis and optimising stock levelsDetermining regular and promotion price strategies for the businessExecuting business plansAccountability for financial parameters and targets to ensure they are achievedProviding leadership and direction to the Buying TeamLeading by example and enhancing team performanceWorking with other functions to ensure effective delivery of merchandise strategyAbout you
Previous senior leadership experience in retail and solid knowledge of local and international markets and trends is essential to succeed in this roleAbility to think in a long-term strategic manner and translate the overall merchandise strategy into the categoryDemonstrated understanding of retail models and the application of organisational requirementsAbility to manage and translate retail financial factors, demonstrated management of costs, profits and financial factorsDemonstrated experience in developing business / merchandise plans and long term strategic plan for category including market share, product specific strategies and supplier strategiesDemonstrated leadership skills that support the approach of building team capability and positive cultureDemonstrated vision and effective communication at all levelsBusiness acumen - initiative, decision making skills, problem solving, influencing and able to analyse reports in order to improve business decisionsAbility to manage, implement and develop systems and processes effectivelyBenefits to You
