About the role
We are seeking an experienced SRA Supervisor who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team who will be responsible for :
- Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Performing all routine procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection
- Assisting with Stock Control
- Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
- Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
- Maintaining current scientific knowledge
- Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Participating in training staff
- Liaising with internal and / or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements :
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or equivalentDemonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise, and skills within the respective disciplineExperience in working in a pathology laboratoryExperience in the supervision of laboratory assistants in a pathology laboratory in the performance of their dutiesSound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshootingAbility to troubleshoot technical issuesDemonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA / ISO accreditation / certificationPerform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervisionOutstanding commitment to quality and excellenceWillingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and proceduresPositive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team memberStrong time management, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to cope and thrive in a busy environmentSelf-initiative and problem-solving capabilitiesExceptional attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritise workloads and meet deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively with health professionals internal and external to the businessBenefits and Wellbeing
