Job description

ALL about the role :

  • Act as the 2IC for the maintenance department supporting the Chief Engineer in daily operations.
  • Supervise and train the maintenance team ensuring compliance with SOPs and WHS regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs address safety concerns and resolve building defects.
  • Oversee and prioritize maintenance requests ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for equipment and machinery.
  • Manage external contractors and schedules to minimise guest disruption.
  • Maintain and oversee building systems including plumbing electrical and fire safety.
  • Manage departmental budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanour at all times.
  • Provide leadership by directing staff performance and ensuring corrective actions when needed.
  • Expected to work weekends and public holidays as part of the roles responsibilities.

Qualifications : ALL about you :

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Handyman or in a similar role.
  • Background in hospitality maintenance is preferred.
  • Trade qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring operational efficiency.
