Team Automation Analyst
The Role :
Working as part of the Test Team, this role will help develop, implement, and maintain quality, consistency and usability of Auto & General’s systems via ongoing Automated testing.
This position will contribute to ongoing development of our Automation Framework, assist in defining, scripting, executing, and maintaining automated tests to support rapid, and scaled delivery for Auto & General. Automation tests will be built to ensure our application changes meet both specification and customer journey requirements.
Your New Team :
You will join our dynamic Automation Test Team within the Technology division, reporting directly to the Test Lead in Toowong. This collaborative team is at the forefront of ensuring high performance and scalability across all A&G applications, working closely with various technical teams to deliver rapid, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Playwright UI Test Development : Develop and implement robust UI automation scripts, translating user stories into effective test scenarios.
 - Framework Contribution & Enhancement : Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our test automation frameworks, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
 - Adherence to Best Practices : Apply and promote established best practices for API and UI test automation, including coding standards and participating in code reviews.
 - Documentation & Knowledge Sharing : Create and maintain clear documentation for test assets and actively participate in team knowledge sharing.
 - Automation Strategy Implementation : Implement automation solutions that align with strategic goals, focusing on reducing manual effort and improving testing efficiency.
 - CI / CD Integration : Integrate API and UI automation suites into CI / CD pipelines to ensure reliable execution and timely feedback on code changes.
 - Regression Suite Management : Execute, monitor, and maintain the automated regression test suite, analysing results and collaborating on defect resolution.
 - AI Tool Utilisation : Utilise AI tools like ACE and Copilot to enhance the efficiency of UI test automation, from script generation to defect analysis.
 
Qualifications & Experience :
Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Automation Engineer or Developer.Demonstrated sound communication skills, effective with technical staff, end-users, and management.Strong knowledge of automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, and REST Library protocol.Experience with CI / CD and version control platforms (e.g., Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitLab / Hub).Ability to build and extend Automation test frameworks using Java or C#.A pragmatic and resilient approach to change.Strong working knowledge in AWS, Azure or GCP.Desirable :
Test Development Expertise : Experience with both UI automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress) and API / unit test development using JUnit.DevOps Toolchain Proficiency : Practical experience with CI / CD platforms like GitLab, build tools such as Gradle, and artifact management with JFrog.Cloud & Monitoring : Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and application performance monitoring tools like New Relic.Programming & Industry : Strong programming experience relevant to test automation, ideally within the financial services sector.Professional Engagement : Active affiliation with relevant technology institutes or professional bodies.Our Perks : Location – Toowong
