About the role

In this role, you will develop and deliver education and learning opportunities that support and enhance an understanding of flora and fauna. The position will directly contribute to successfully building visitation, reputation and support the Geelong Botanic Gardens excellence in education.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Delivering high quality programs for education booked groups, public programs, and volunteer guides.
  • Developing, sourcing, preparing, and maintaining program materials.
  • Evaluating education and learning programs feedback, participation on project teams and supporting the development of key partnerships.
  • Being the primary point of contact for enquiries and bookings and ensuring a positive, engaging, and timely customer experience for all customers.
  • Maintaining spaces, materials and resources used in the delivery of GBG programs to a high standard.
  • Work with staff and the coordinator implementing the Geelong Botanic Garden Website and Socials.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant qualification in teaching, education, or related discipline, such as a post-trade certificate of other post-secondary qualification and a passion for plants and the environment.

Essential :

  • Experience in the development of targeted education programs and resource kits.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of educational programs and materials for various age and skill levels that capture students imagination and be able to communicate key messages to an audience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian and / or National curriculum and its framework.
  • Proficient and professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the role of botanic gardens and living plant collections.
