About the opportunity
The Sydney Medical School is seeking an outstanding academic clinician to join as Associate Professor or Professor of Geriatric Medicine within the Westmead Clinical School. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced clinician–researcher to advance academic geriatric medicine in one of Australia’s largest and most diverse health precincts. The role will be based at the Westmead Clinical School, with a clinical academic appointment offered within the Western Sydney Local Health District, currently based at Blacktown Hospital.
The appointee will lead a program of internationally recognised research, teaching, and clinical innovation, and will have the opportunity to build upon an award-winning frailty research register of more than 1,500 older participants. This platform provides a strong foundation to establish a Centre for Frailty Research or similar interdisciplinary initiative in ageing and health.
This is an excellent opportunity for an academic geriatrician, either a proven leader or an emerging scholar of international standing-to shape the future of research, education, and clinical practice in geriatric medicine. Applications are welcomed from candidates in Australia and internationally.
