Position Classification : Health Manager Level 1

Remuneration : $84,436 – $11,2331 + 12% Super + Salary Packaging

Hours Per Week : 16

Location : John Hunter Hospital

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This part‑time position (16 hours per week, with the option to add additional hours) plays an integral role in delivering high‑quality clinical trial services to patients and research partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study assessments (feasibilities, contract and budget negotiations)
  • Study start‑up including ethics, governance, contracts and CTMS setup
  • Participant recruitment, visit coordination and data management
  • Specimen management and liaison with monitors, sponsors and investigators
  • Support other trial coordinators and assist with general research activities
  • Provide mentorship and contribute to workflow and compliance improvements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to improve team coordination, productivity and compliance
  • Demonstrated understanding of the evolving clinical trials landscape, and the ability to implement useful processes and procedures in response to evolving requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and executing clinical trials to the highest ethical and scientific standards
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and contract review, negotiation and ensuring targets are met
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex and diverse problems and apply a range of options to develop solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines
  • Proficient and responsive computer literacy ability. An understanding of, or willingness and ability to learn, NSW Health and HNE Health applications and systems is desirable
