What’s the role?

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Engineer to help elevate our automation maturity across critical banking platforms. This role involves API validation, test automation, and close collaboration within agile squads. You will work within Westpac’s mesh architecture and CI / CD pipelines to ensure robust quality coverage across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform manual regression test cases into automated test suites for key banking journeys.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using Playwright .
• Perform API testing across microservices using RestAssured .
• Collaborate with agile teams to define test scope, acceptance criteria, and quality benchmarks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins .
• Manage and maintain test environments to ensure consistent and reliable execution of automated suites.
• Log, triage, and document defects with clear impact analysis to support rapid resolution.
