The Role
The Release Manager oversees the entire Release Management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases for multiple applications across various portfolios. These releases may involve application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades. You'll also provide artifacts and services to aid product management and project teams in deploying releases to production.
This role collaborates with all participants in software development, supporting program and project teams, and managers as they set up and deploy to their required environments. Additionally, it involves working with IT management to enhance software engineering processes and practices for continuous building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
The Release Manager is also responsible for managing release-related interdependencies, ensuring adherence to key governance processes and milestone management, and maintaining the integrity of releases.
Your Profile
Candidates should have 3-6 years of experience in release and / or agile project management, along with 8-10 years of experience in information systems operations, particularly in systems analysis or development. Financial services experience and formal training in agile delivery practices, such as Scaled Agile Frameworks for Enterprise, is preferred. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and general knowledge of ITSM or SIAM processes are essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams effectively, showing strong leadership and analytical skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills are also a must.
Proficiency in PC applications, including expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and working knowledge of Access, is required.
