Position Overview:
The Software Developer shall be responsible for the execution of Software development activities within HDA’s (Hanwha Defence Australia) Software Engineering team.
Primary Duties:
- Design, implement and maintain the Software elements of the HDA's Electronic Architecture (EA) across all HDA programs.
- Implement the AS GVA (Australian Generic Vehicle Architecture) software aspects and the AS LDM (Australian Land Data Model) across all HDA programs.
- Support the HDA System Safety team by leading HDA’s implementation of Software Safety.
- Implement systems-security engineering, in conjunction with HDA's platform cyber security team.
- Support C4I capability through systems engineering product lifecycle from concept through to Design Acceptance for a Land Platform
- Update and maintain all relevant engineering artefacts (including at the architectural, system, subsystem and component level) in accordance with project activities, including developing Test Plans and Trial Instructions
- Provide technical input and guidance to technical stakeholders and their teams
- Provide technical input to the management and scheduling of technical activities
- Engage stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations
- Where tasked, act as the owner of a Software deliverable and report on progress against deliverables, proposed activities, risks and issues, and key priorities
- Perform other duties where required by the supervisor or Software Engineering lead.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering, ICT or Science discipline with relevant industry or domain work experience.
Experience:
- Professional experience on taking ownership of the whole Software cycle, preferably in Land C4I: writing Software requirements, code, CSCI/Unit tests and supporting SW/System integration.
- Professional experience in: AS GVA, AS LDM, RTI-DDS, C#/.NET, ASP.NET, WPF, DevExpress, CAN, Containers.
- Professional experience in TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
- Desirable experience in developing Software using GitLab.
- Desirable experience in developing Software running on both Windows and Linux.
- Desirable experience in developing Software running in a System with strong Security, Safety, and Human Factors Engineering requirements.
- Desirable experience with systems like BMS-C2, BMS-F, AFATDS, DTCS, and C4ISREW.

- Skilled in supporting design reviews, V&V programs, test planning, conduct, and reporting.
- Knowledge of Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON).
