The Role
Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Director of Development, you will lead the strategic sourcing of all project “Finishes,” including FF&E, OS&E, and construction materials. Their structural construction methods are based on Modular Formats, so the focus for this role is on Interiors, Fittings & Fixtures. This is not just a "buying" role; you are the bridge between creative design intent and commercial execution.
You will collaborate daily with their internal and consulting design teams and their China-based sourcing office to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, on brand and to quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Develop procurement strategies for each asset class, negotiating directly with suppliers locally and in China, to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
• Design Integration: Partner with designers to translate mood boards and concept packages into actionable procurement briefs.
• Global Logistics: Oversee international shipping, customs, and local warehousing to align with construction and fit-out timelines.
• Quality & Standards: Review shop drawings and prototypes; conduct occasional factory visits and pre-shipment inspections to maintain high aesthetic standards.
• Commercial Management: Manage budgets, value engineering, and supplier contracts, ensuring clear warranties and performance tracking.

Skills and Experience
We are looking for a professional who possesses a rare mix of analytical procurement skill and a refined "eye" for design.

• Demonstrated Experience: 5–7 years in procurement within property development, hospitality, or interior design. Strong understanding of FF&E/OS&E, international sourcing, and offshore manufacturing (particularly in China).
• Design Literacy: A background in interior design, architecture, or design management is highly regarded.
• Flexibility: Ability to travel occasionally to China for factory inspections and across Australia for site installations.
