is one of KU’s largest services, this service provides quality education and care for children of Commonwealth Bank employees and the general community for up to 90 children aged between 6 weeks-5 years old.
The service is in The Exchange building on Little Pier Street in Haymarket and is open Monday-Friday 7 : 30am-6 : 00pm. The service is very accessible by multiple modes of transport, it is a 10–15-minute walk from either Town Hall or Central station or a 4 minute walk from Paddy’s Markets Light Rail stop.
Darling Nest opened in 2019 and is a well-resourced, modern facility. The service is fully air-conditioned and operates across two levels, there are 3 nursey rooms, 1 toddler room and 2 preschool rooms. Each level has a spacious covered playground and has lots of loose parts and natural and recycled materials which ties in with the focus the service has on sustainability.

We are looking for a permanent, full time Service Director to innovate, inspire, motivate and lead a dedicated team. You will bring your sound pedagogical knowledge, experience of developing and maintaining relationships with children and families, rostering, mentoring, daily routines, policy implementation whilst building a harmonious working environment. This role is a non-teaching load director however we believe the director should be visible within the rooms providing mentoring and building relations with children and families, ensuring a high quality service delivery. You will have the full time support of a dedicated onsite service administrator as well as the Education and Quality team, education support manager, learning and development facilitator and wider support services available across the organisation.
