About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Ward, you’ll deliver expert, compassionate care to acute surgical patients from admission to discharge. Your work will combine technical excellence with human connection, easing pain, guiding recovery, and supporting patients and families through challenging experiences.
A Typical Day May Include
- Providing evidence‑based, patient‑centred care in a dynamic surgical environment
- Collaborating closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals to achieve the best outcomes
- Managing post‑operative care, wound management, and complex clinical presentations
- Educating and empowering patients and families to participate in recovery and discharge planning
- Contributing to continuous improvement through ward rounds, case conferences, and professional development
