About the client :

Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area. Rex Minerals also holds extensive exploration tenements across the Yorke Peninsula, providing potential for organic growth across the region.

Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Early-stage site access work has commenced, as well as other key enabling activities. Establishment of key contracts is well advanced, with recruitment of the team to execute the project proceeding at pace into 2026. The project will be operated under a contract mining model with oversight from an experienced owners’ team.

The scene is set, and Hillside will be one the next greenfield mining projects in Australia to get off the ground.

About the role :

As Manager Technical Services you will be one of the key stakeholders driving the development of the Hillside Project. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical services functions including geology, geotechnical engineering and mining engineering – specifically the development and ownership for the life of mine planning, 5-year planning and technical oversight of the mine services contractor.

You will have the opportunity to not only build a technical team from scratch but be part of the leadership team that will build the culture and capability of Hillside for years to come.

Experience required :

• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or related field
• 10+ years of experience in mining operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role in technical services with experience in open pit mining being advantageous.
• Experience in the development of long-term strategic plans, life of
• Proven track record of managing large-scale mining projects.
• Proven experience managing contractors in mining operations, with strong understanding of contractor management and performance monitoring.
