Glengarry Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant’s – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Glengarry PS is an attractive school located in the suburb of Duncraig, approximately 15 kilometres north of Perth City. The well-kept buildings, featuring student made mosaic masterpieces are surrounded by tranquil, natural bushland, flowerbeds and well maintained grassed and bitumen play areas.

The supportive, dedicated, and experienced staff work collaboratively to enhance each of the 400 student's physical, social, academic, and emotional development. Assisted by continuing professional development, the staff are working to prepare students for the many demands and rapid change of the 21st century. The Role

As an Education Assistant - Special Needs you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs for students across Kindergarten to Year 6. This may include managing small groups of students under the direction of the teacher that will help in the development of young minds and support the general health and wellbeing of students. You would work in a collaborative environment to provide support for students in the classroom.

Suitable applicants will ideally be caring, proactive, and responsive, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs. Education Assistants should work alongside teachers to ensure the implementation of the school business plan and priorities using the agreed programs and strategies. The ability to work with small groups of students assisting them socially and academically is highly desirable. Suitable applicants may also be required to provide feedback to parents or caregivers as to student progress. You should have excellent time management skills and be able to work with a variety of teachers and students throughout the day.

    Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and / or physiotherapy programs.

    Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.

    Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
