About the role

As a Policy Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for contributing to the development and coordination of mining and petroleum policy initiatives across the Department and Government.

This role involves the preparation of Ministerial correspondence, reports, policy papers, briefing notes and other departmental correspondence, facilitating departmental and ministerial participation, carrying out economic, financial research and analysis of the mineral and petroleum industry.

Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis of current and emerging issues relevant to the mining and petroleum industry and providing strategic advice to management on these policy issues.

Drawing on your extensive experience in economic and statistical research, analysing of strategic policy issue, preparing reports of executive level you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project outcomes.
