Muru Mittigar is seeking a highly organised and capable Project Officer to support our Conservation and Land Management Operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong industry experience who enjoys project coordination and administration and is looking to step away from full-time on the tools work.
This is a hybrid role, combining on-site support with office-based work as required.
About the Role
As Project Officer, you will provide high-level administrative and project support to Project Managers across a range of conservation and land management activities, including bush regeneration, conservation works, and bushfire hazard mitigation. You will play a key role in ensuring projects run smoothly from planning through to delivery and reporting.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of conservation operations, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project and administrative support to Project Managers across conservation and land management projects
- Assist with project planning, including timelines, tracking progress, and coordinating resources
- Prepare professional reports relating to operational activities (bush regeneration, conservation, land management, bushfire mitigation)
- Support client liaison, including preparing and following up quotes, coordinating works, and associated reporting
- Assist with work planning, scheduling, staff rostering, and drafting invoices
- Monitor project budgets and expenses, reporting discrepancies as required
- Manage project documentation to ensure records are accurate and up to date
- Coordinate equipment, tools, and machinery, including maintenance and servicing
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Quality, Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety (QES) systems
- Identify and help mitigate project risks
- Contribute to team training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Other operational support tasks as required
About You
You will bring a combination of industry knowledge and strong coordination skills, including :Minimum 3 years experience in bush regeneration and / or conservationRelevant qualification in conservation, land management, horticulture, landscaping, or demonstrated equivalent experienceStrong plant and weed identification knowledgeSound understanding of project coordination and deliveryHighly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing prioritiesConfident communicator with strong written and verbal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamCurrent drivers licence and own transportDesirable :
