About the role :

As a project-based role, the  Therapeutic Trainer  will take a lead in implementing a training strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and fostering an environment of continuous learning and development. This includes analysing current and future training needs, developing frameworks, engaging stakeholders, and in consultation with the senior leadership team, make strategic decisions in rolling out innovative training initiatives for foster carers and employees.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Attending and representing Key Assets Australia, South Australia (KAASA) at external forums, meetings, and community services’ planning meetings to obtain trends and forecasting on training needs

    • for the foster care community and KAASA staff.

  • Ensure that identified training programs for carers and staff are systematically implemented, and are trauma informed.
  • Observe and implement, as appropriate, training in relation to child protection, safeguarding procedures and inform the Assistant Director / State Director / Operations Manager immediately of any child protection, safeguarding concerns or reportable conduct issues.
  • Overseeing the Social Work registration process, and ensuring registration is maintained for KAASA Social Workers in line with Social Worker Registration Board (SWRB) requirements, which

    • includes clinical supervision, ensuring Social Workers engage in CPD yearly, and annual auditing.

    The base salary for this position is $97,377.80 - $101,787.92 per annum + super + vehicle allowance + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.

    This position is a full-time, fixed term opportunity for 12 months.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you’ll come with :

  • Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or other relevant recognised Qualifications
  • Therapeutic Crisis intervention Trainer Certification and experience in delivering relevant training
  • At least 2+ years' experience in the delivery of adult education
  • 5+ years' experience working in the OOHC sector
  • Demonstrated experience leading training initiatives and implementing strategic frameworks, including stakeholder engagement and process development
  • Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both verbal and written, with a diverse staff group at all levels, recognising potential language barriers and cultural differences.
