About the Role

The role of casual Deckhand - Cleveland and Redland Bay will provide exceptional customer service and assist in the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of the vessel

Working closely with vessel crew, key duties include :

• Provide excellent customer service
• Assisting with safe daily operations of the vessel
• Identify and notify Master / Operations of safety concerns and assist with implementation to prevent incidents
• Participate and contribute to emergency response plans
• Monitor and organise vehicle / passenger loading safely and efficiently while providing clear directions to passengers
• Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of the of the vessel
• Securely moor the vessel at each pontoon, coil mooring lines neatly at the completion of each trip and inspect and splice mooring lines when required
• Carry out deck patrols during shift and ensure the vessel is protected from being damaged when in its berth
• Understand and meet the requirements detailed in the vessel’s Safety Management System, to actively participate in emergency response procedures
• Manage ticket sales and checks ensuring compliance
