Salary : Level 6, $120,457 - $132,753 p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation (PSCA 2024)

This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.

About The Role

The Family Violence Conciliation Registrar is responsible for presiding over a range of complex judicial and quasi- judicial proceedings (including mediation of objected Family Violence Restraining Order matters) and is responsible for providing the necessary quasi- judicial services that support the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.

As part of the Magistrates Court team, the successful applicant will be expected to :

Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactionsOperate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activityOperate within the chain of command to coordinate activities required to meet the Department's strategic objectivesWork collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriateFacilitate cultural and management reforms within the Department through leadership and engagementRepresent the Department's interest on committees and working groups as required.

Eligibility

Successful Applicants Must Have

A valid C Class Drivers License and be able to travel to designated Magistrate Court locations as required.Experience as a mediator, conciliator, lawyer, or in alternative dispute resolution.A tertiary qualification or progress towards a tertiary qualification in a related discipline, including but not limited to a Bachelor of Laws.To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the date of first appointment. Permanent and fixed term, full time or part-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
