Job description

Gecko Environment Management is an ecological restoration and consulting company based on the Central Coast NSW for over 20 years. Our work is primarily throughout the NSW Central Coast, Hornsby and Hunter region within our beautiful local National Parks and Council reserves.

We are seeking to employ casual bush regeneration field officers.

At the core of this role is the opportunity to develop knowledge of local flora, fauna and ecology, site management, as well as essential restoration ecology skills including bushland navigation, field use of mapping software, GPS use, threatened species identification and management.

Essential Criteria :

Completed or completing Tafe Cert III in Conservation and Land Management or higher.
Current AQF III Chemical use certification
WHS Construction Industry Whitecard
Minimum two-day availability. Preferably 3-5 days availablity
Must have own transport and be punctual and reliable.
A current drivers license

Desirable Criteria :

Three to six months experience in the bush regeneration industry

Excellent Flora ID skills or a desire to gain excellent Flora ID skills.

Chainsaw qualifications & experience

4×4 driving experience

Familiarity with use of GPS and GIS
