Acquainted Talent are specialist recruiters in the health, safety and environment space and we are excited to be partnering with an award-winning commercial, aviation and retail precinct located on the site of Melbourne’s first airport.This master planned precinct has been carefully considered at every step to encourage collaboration and productivity. A place where anything is possible. With a broad and diverse risk portfolio they currently have a need for a proactive HSE Manager to join the team in a stand alone capacity.

About the role

The role of the HSE Manager is to lead and drive a positive culture and work in collaboration with the various departments to ensure HSE is imbedded into the daily operations of all business units.

Responsibilities include :

• Provide general support and advice to the various business units across all levels.
• Implementation and maintenance of the HSE system and ensure fit for purpose.
• Establish, manage and administer HSE annual budgets.
• Arranging HSE training
• Provide advice and interpretation on the application of Health and Safety Legislation
• Work with leaders to conduct relevant safety audits and risk assessments.
• Lead / assist with safety inspections and safety briefings.
• Assist with employee-based HS matters including workers compensation claims and return to work plans.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a contemporary way to selling the safety message with the ability to engage at all levels. Your stakeholder group is diverse and touches on a vast range of industries so you will need to be adaptable in your style and approach and work in a collaborative style.

Technically you will have a solid amount experience in a HSE role where you have had exposure to setting or proving input into strategy. You will have worked in a fast-paced environment and display a comprehensive knowledge of high-risk environments. You will have strong experience in contractor management and a level of comfort and familiarity with technology as an enabler to support the delivery of HSE outcomes is also important. This is a stand alone role so you will need to be comfortable at the boardroom as well as getting out on site engaging at ground level.
