Iona College is a child safe school committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people.About the roleThe Student Reception / Attendance and Excursions Officer is responsible for monitoring and managing student attendance records, ensuring compliance with the MACS Schools Attendance Policy and providing support to students, parents, and staff regarding attendance-related matters. The role is critical in promoting a culture of regular school attendance and in identifying and addressing attendance issues promptly.This role is ongoing and full-time.Key Responsibilities : Student Reception : Welcome and assist students, families, and visitors; manage sign-ins / outs.Direct calls, emails, and messages, ensuring timely communication.Issue class and attendance passes; oversee PA announcements.First Aid and Sick Bay : Assist the College Nurse with first aid and sick bay management.Log student visits and support medication administration.Respond to health needs, contacting parents when required.Release daily rolls and update attendance records.Address unapproved absences and track attendance patterns.Generate attendance reports for leadership and external agencies.College Excursions : Manage the College Excursions.Arrange transportation, resources, and medical requirements.Communicate with staff regarding excursion logistics.Skills and Qualifications : Previous experience in a school or office reception role.Strong communication, multitasking, and organisational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and attendance management systems (e.g., SIMON).First Aid certification and familiarity with school health protocols.How to apply : APPLICATION PROCESSApplicants can apply by visiting our school website and downloading the application form and timeline : employment / Interested applicants should submit the following via email : Iona College Geelong Non-Teaching Application Form.Your Resume.An introductory Letter addressing the following questions : Your reasons for wanting to become part of the Iona College Geelong Staff.The skills and attributes that you will contribute to the position sought and how these qualities may set you apart from other applicants.Only Microsoft Word Documents will be accepted (no PDF documents).
