An exciting 12-month term contract opportunity is available working as Community Services Project Manager as part of the Community Infrastructure team.

About the role

Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic community and cultural projects that enhance service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency across the City of Parramatta.

This role is responsible for managing complex, multi-faceted initiatives including business systems, processes, people, and capital works while fostering stakeholder engagement and ensuring business readiness through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of complex projects from initiation to operational handover, using contemporary project management methodologies, risk controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including ICT, Capital Works, and external consultants, to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract management, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and customer-focused outcomes, while fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and inclusion.

About You

We are looking for someone with :

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline such as project management, engineering, business administration and / or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Current Project Management Practitioner Accreditation, ideally Agile, Prince2 or PMBOK
  • Extensive experience delivering business systems projects in a government context, with a strong focus on operational readiness, service delivery, and project management.
  • Skilled in developing project documentation, including functional specifications, business cases, and project plans, while managing complex timelines, milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge practically across large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a high level of computer literacy.

    We are offering an attractive remuneration from $146,512 to $161,317 plus 12% superannuation.
