Russo Higher Education (RHE) Pty Ltd are currently seeking a full time Work integrated learning (WIL) lecturer based in Brisbane CBD for the beginning of 2026. This is working within James Cook University Brisbane which is a campus of James Cook University operated in partnership with RHE.
As the Lecturer in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), you will be responsible for designing, delivering and managing a comprehensive program of academic units, including professional placements and internships on the James Cook University, Brisbane campus. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the academic integrity, quality, and strategic development of professional placement subjects across the academic calendar.
Partnering with the Professional Placements team and academic staff, you will work to facilitate successful student placements and student management of those enrolled in WIL units. This role supports students' development of employability, professional skills, and industry engagement through facilitation of work placements.
Part of your role, you will be required to :
Design, coordinate, and deliver curriculum involving work-integrated learning aligned with course and program learning outcomes for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Facilitate student placements and supports industry-linked projects, ensuring quality and educational relevance.
Make informed judgments regarding the suitability of placement sites, monitor student progression and completion.
Engage with industry and community partners to develop and sustain collaborative WIL opportunities.
Support and mentor students throughout their WIL experiences, including assessment, feedback, and reflection activities.
Develop and maintain knowledge of best practices in WIL and contemporary teaching methods, incorporating innovative approaches and technologies.
Contribute to academic administration, including planning, reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., TEQSA requirements).
Collaborate with Job and Placement officer, InPlace teams and university staff to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Ability to establish and maintain productive industry and community relationships.
Effective communication and mentoring skills to support diverse student cohorts.
Up-to-date expertise in work-integrated learning theory and practice.
Capacity for academic leadership in curriculum design and delivery.
