Remuneration : $56.68 - $58.52 per hour

About the Opportunity

There is an exciting opportunity in Primary and Community Health for a Senior Dietitian to join the Paediatric Weight Management Service.

In the Growing Healthy Kids role, you will play a key part in delivering evidence-based nutritional care to children and young people (aged 2–18 years) and their families. You will work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT), including Paediatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, a Social Worker, Exercise Physiologist, Administrative Officer, and fellow Dietitians. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the MDT to conduct individual assessments and develop tailored nutrition care plans to support families in making sustainable lifestyle changes.

You will be making a real impact on the lives of children and their families, working across multiple community clinics, and being part of services that value innovation, equity, and excellence in paediatric nutrition.

  • This position is district wide, with the location negotiable.

What You'll be Doing

This position is responsible for providing patient centred and high quality nutrition services to clients, including providing nutritional care to patients as per caseload; provide and participate in education and evaluation; supervise students and Level 1-2 dietitian as appropriate; and participate in ongoing professional development.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

How to Apply

  • Post graduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia.
  • Relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of complex case load for paediatric clients and their families.
  • Experience and knowledge in service development and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
