What’s on offer?

Join our dynamic team at Fulton Hogan Utilities as a Lead Estimator for our QLD Utilities Programs. This is a unique opportunity to lead and build a team of estimators, shaping the future of our water and utility infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for guiding the team through large-scale tenders and live program works, with a focus on innovation under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) procurement model. With pathways for personal and professional development, this role offers excellent benefits and a chance to elevate your leadership in the utilities sector.

In this role you'll be responsible for :

Leading a team of estimators to develop accurate estimates for utility projects, primarily focusing on water and wastewater treatment and distribution

Develop and implement estimating strategies that align with business objectives and program goals, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all estimates

Reviewing and negotiating offers from subcontractors and suppliers

Building strong relationships with key stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and design consultants

Conducting market research to gather data on labour costs, materials, and productivity

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and senior management to ensure estimates reflect all aspects of the project scope, including constructability, scheduling, safety and risk

Prepare detailed cost reports, summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, providing presentations on project feasibility, budget adherence, innovations and cost-savings.

How you'll connect to the role :

Extensive experience as a Senior or Lead Estimator in the utilities sector, preferably within Tier 1 environments or large-scale infrastructure projects

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team

Experience pricing large and small Water / Wastewater projects

Strong knowledge of financial and project management principles

Familiarity with Estimator is an advantage, but not required

Experience in estimating O&M rates-based opportunities will also be highly regarded
