The role

As Infrastructure Architect, you will be a driving force behind building the Department into a high-performance innovative organisation by designing and implementing foundation ICT services both on-premises and off-premises to facilitate the reliable and sustainable execution of the Department's operational business needs. You will also assume a pivotal role in facilitating the achievement of the strategic and operational vision of the IT Operations Branch.

Your success in the role will hinge on your experience in the implementation and support of infrastructure systems and services within a large integrated LAN / WAN technology environment, as well as your ability to implement and execute disaster recovery design.

Your adept analytical, problem solving and assessment skills alongside experience in the design and deployment of infrastructure services, with the capability to implement multiple simultaneous technical projects in a complex ICT environment, will be key to your effectiveness in the role.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A detailed resume outlining your key achievements, work history, education and professional development and covering letter of no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following role specific requirements :

  • Demonstrated good knowledge and experience in the implementation and support of infrastructure systems and services within a large integrated LAN / WAN technology environment, including cloud infrastructure and IaaS, PaaS and SaaS in either Azure or AWS.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge and experience in the design and deployment of infrastructure services and the implementation of multiple simultaneous technical projects in a complex ICT environment.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge and experience in disaster recovery design, implementation and execution.
