About the role

As a Personal Banker, you will be the go-to expert for our customers, managing personal lending portfolios, providing expert advice on home loan retention, and offering the best solutions to meet their needs. You will write and assess personal loans, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and also manage Interest Only (IO) and fixed-rate loan expiries, acting as the first point of contact for all mortgage discharge needs.

Key responsibilities :

  • Customer interaction - respond to customer queries regarding products, services and lending policies, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
  • Loan Management - manage personal lending responsibilities, including writing and recommending personal loans to meet customer needs.
  • Retention and Solutions - retain existing lending members by identifying and recommending tailored solutions and manage the retention process effectively.
  • Discharge Management - be the first point of contact for all discharge-related needs and assist in the discharge process.
  • Outbound Calling - engage with customers through the CRM to maintain relationships and ensure quality interactions.

    To succeed in this role, you should be passionate about building lasting customer relationships, along with having the right mix of skills, experience and attitude.

  • Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for resolving conflicts or problems effectively.
  • Sales and Negotiation - Proven experience in lending sales, business development and negotiation.
  • Leadership - Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to guide and motivate others.
  • Financial Product Knowledge - In-depth understanding of lending and insurance products. Experience in managing loan portfolios would be a bonus!
  • Certifications - ASIC Tier II Accreditation is required, along with a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (or a willingness to obtain).
  • Tech-Savvy - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM and other IT programs.
