Position Overview :

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be a creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual with a flair for preparing high-quality dishes that exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Implement proper freezing and preservation techniques.
  • Provide support and assistance where necessary in all areas within the kitchen.
  • Develop new seasonal menus and make appropriate changes to the existing menu, such as changes in the prices of food items maintaining minimum overhead costs.
  • Rectify problems arising or issues related to food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety standards are always maintained and adhered by the kitchen staff.
  • Ensure the seasoning and garnishing of dishes are done appropriately and the right portion of food is served to the customers.
  • Prepare season and cook a variety of dishes as per the à la carte menu, meeting dietary requirements where required.
  • Exhibit to kitchen staff the different styles and methods of cooking, including traditional and contemporary techniques.
  • Stock management including ordering, rotation, and wastage control.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and coordinate kitchen activities.
  • Ensure the quality of food preparation and presentation is maintained all the time.
  • Educate kitchen staff on hygiene regulations and enforce strict adherence to sanitary practices.

Skills and Experience :

  • Minimum Diploma level qualification is required.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience is required.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Salary : $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per annum plus Superannuation
