    Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation providing a comprehensive range of free and low-cost health, wellbeing and community services in early childhood, youth, families, adults, aged and disability.

    Covering an area of over 1700 km2 from Sunbury to beyond the borders of Macedon Ranges Shire our 220 staff and 70 volunteers are based across four sites at Kyneton, Romsey and Sunbury.

    About the Role

    We are looking for a passionate grade 1 or 2 occupational therapist to join in our multi-disciplinary Child and Youth Health team.

    Work in the local Sunbury and Macedon Ranges community through a range of diverse funding schemes, including NDIS, Community Health and School Readiness Funding.

    Work with children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years, conducting on-site therapy in one of our contemporary clinics (Sunbury, Kyneton and Romsey) and outreach services, and collaborate with a dynamic team of speech pathologists, other occupational therapists, physiotherapists, audiologists, music therapist, and allied health assistants.

    A typical day includes :

    • Visiting kindergartens and providing coaching and professional development to staff
    • Facilitating multi-disciplinary and OT groups
    • Completing initial assessments or providing 1 : 1 therapy
    • Participating in case conference meetings and peer supervision
    • The role is based in Sunbury, Kyneton, or Romsey, but travel across Hume and the Macedon Ranges and to our sites may be required.

      Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide assessment and management of occupational therapy clients (birth to 18 years old), using a range of service delivery models
    • Make appropriate referrals for clients whose service requirements are more suitably catered for by an alternative service provider
    • Provide information and support to parents / caregivers of children / adolescents receiving occupational therapy services
    • Provide services to clients from different backgrounds including but not limited to first nations, aged and disability, LGBTQIA+
    • Provide programs to community members and other professionals about communication, with an emphasis on general childhood / adolescent development
    • Perform general administrative tasks including recording contacts and progress notes within Trak Care system, management of client electronic health records
    • For Grade 2 applicants only :
    • Supervise students on placements

    • Achieve clinical targets and quality targets, as directed by team leader
    • Provide education and act as a resource to other staff, patients, community groups and other agencies as appropriate to the role
    • About You

    • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
    • Membership of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
    • Occupational therapist with clinical experience (grade 1 or 2)
    • Experience in the delivery of occupational therapy services to children and / or adolescents
    • Experience in working with families using a strengths-based approach
    • Knowledge of the early childhood and / or education sector
    • Experience and / or knowledge in the delivery of community education programs and a clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements
