Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA — and we’re building new capabilities to match. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of how we generate and interact with business insights through data. While responsibilities may evolve, here’s what you can expect to work on :

• Building the foundational analytics layer that powers Canva’s ability to use large language models
• (LLMs) for answering business questions through natural language interfaces — enabling non-
• technical users to get answers from data without needing SQL.
• Designing and implementing robust, scalable semantic data models that translate raw data into
• business-friendly concepts for real-time and AI-assisted querying.Partnering with data scientists, product analysts, and business stakeholders to automate
• performance reporting and connect hundreds of experiments with foundational goal metrics
• such as revenue, active users, and retention.
• Modernizing legacy dashboards by integrating AI-first approaches — from query translation to
• proactive insights — and helping define the next generation of LLM-native reporting at Canva.
• Writing production-quality code in SQL and Python to optimize and orchestrate transformations,
• develop resilient pipelines, and shape the end-to-end data experience.
• Contributing to a data platform that supports the entire company in making better decisions —
• faster, smarter, and more intuitively.

The mission of the ‘Foundational Goal Performance’ team is to improve overall commercial measurement outcomes across Canva and to make sure we have a path to continuously hitting our growth targets. We run and support a range of programs that help Canva understand what’s working and what’s not. This challenge sits at the very core of Canva as a company and changes how we think about our product investments, how we bring everyone together to rally around growth, and how we provide the right tooling and measurement to support these conversations. With this goal in mind, the team naturally works cross functionally across the entire organisation to influence and move Canva forward as a whole.
