SCADA & Controls Engineer | Energy Projects | Tier 1 Mining Client

Location : Perth based (Adhoc site travel as required)

Join a Tier 1 mining client on a landmark decarbonisation and energy transition program. You'll play a key role in delivering SCADA and control systems across high-voltage substations, renewable energy assets (wind and solar), BESS, and power management systems throughout the Pilbara.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of Australia's renewable energy infrastructure boom within a high-performing and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure and commission SCADA, RTUs and HMI systems across new and existing infrastructure

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA / control systems into broader energy projects

Develop functional design specs, testing documentation and technical manuals

Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support commissioning plans and site execution

Provide advanced troubleshooting and ensure quality, reliability and performance of systems

Support both office-based and site-based work, with occasional travel as required

About You

3+ years' experience in SCADA or control systems engineering within power utilities or infrastructure

Strong background with RTUs, HMI, SCADA platforms (e.g. Ignition, SEL RTACs)

Familiarity with IEC61131 programming (ladder, structured text, function block)

Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC104, IEC61850)

Knowledge of network design, routing, and secure communications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills

Flexible and team-oriented with a strong safety mindset
