Location : Blackburn, VIC (with potential to work from other locations as required).

Role type : Max Term Parental Leave cover, Part time (3 days per week) until 15 Sep 2026. Salary packaging benefits available to increase fortnightly take-home pay (up to $15,900).

Your new role

As a Principal Practitioner you will strengthen the practice skills and knowledge of Practitioners, leading a practice culture that is evidence based and integrates theory, research and known consumer outcomes into practice. You will support practice across Uniting programs to ensure practice is inclusive, timely, collaborative, client centred and aligned to the Uniting Therapeutic Model of Care (TMoC).

You will work alongside the Eastern Melbourne teams to ensure practice excellence through coaching, reflective practice, secondary consultation and evidence-based decision making. The role will utilise data to reflect on practice, track fidelity and interventions, driving improved outcomes for consumers.

Your skills and experience

To be successful you will meet the person specification in the position description, including a degree in Social Work, Psychology or related qualification relevant to child and family welfare. You will also have :

  • Current valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Extensive theoretical underpinning in trauma theory, attachment theory, and trauma neurobiology
  • Extensive experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families
  • Extensive experience in Trauma Informed Practice
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality practice development activities including training, secondary consultation, and facilitation of reflective practice
