Overview

We are on the lookout for dynamic individuals to lead the technical development of software supply chain security products at Azure.

As a Junior Software Engineer / SWE I , you will be responsible for designing and building products and solutions for strengthening the software secure supply chain security in the cloud-native ecosystem. You will be collaborating with other engineers, product managers to create designs and getting buy-in from the rest of the company and open-source communities, like Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF). This position requires strong collaboration across team and organizational boundaries.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

2 years experience working in technical engineering / software engineering experience AND proven experience coding in at least one language including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Golang , JavaScript, or Python. Golang is desirable.
Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent or related technical discipline OR equivalent experience
Desire to work in open-source, communicating with both team members and open-source contributors asynchronously via GitHub, Slack, and regular community meetings on Zoom.
Experience writing Golang applications.
A growth mindset, passion for new technologies, high levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with containers and container security is a plus.

Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, or other software build systems are a plus.

Experience working with software supply chain security build attestations, such as SBOMs and provenance, is a plus.

Other Requirements :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings :  Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.
