Lutheran Aged Care Albury is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to join their team. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing, supervising, and managing lifestyle activities for care recipients.
The role involves regular consultation with care recipients to evaluate the effectiveness of lifestyle programs and update them as required. The Lifestyle Assistant will also communicate with the Team Leader regarding resources allocated to the program, care recipient needs, and volunteer management.
Position Objectives
- Support and implement the Mission, Philosophy, and Values of Lutheran Aged Care
- Provide direct assistance with physical, mental, and recreational activities to maintain care recipients' independence and individual lifestyle
- Work according to the Policies, Procedures, and Work Practices of the Organization
- Operate within the relevant legislative framework
- Maintain all relevant documentation
- Support WHS Acts & Regulations
- Attend relevant meetings and education sessions
- Participate in Quality Improvements programs
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Possession of qualifications in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Lifestyle, or other relevant qualificationsCurrent knowledge of and experience in aged careProven understanding of the needs of older people in a residential aged care settingHigh level of communication (oral and written)Knowledge of clinical / medical issues relevant to older peopleExperience in organizing events / activitiesKey Accountabilities
Communication
Regular liaison with Lifestyle Coordinator on programs, care recipient reviews, and volunteer management issuesLiaison with stakeholders on issues linked to the lifestyle programLiaison with relatives on care recipients' social needs and promoting involvement in activitiesGood written and verbal expressionProvide reports and articles for newsletters as requiredEducation / Training
