Senior Auditor - Public Practice

HLV Partners is an energetic Chartered Accounting Firm with over 60 years of history in the beautiful Nambucca Valley. We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding audit team.
Using advanced systems and technology, you will work alongside our Audit Partner in delivering quality engagements to our valued and diverse audit clients, all from the base of our brand-new purpose-built office in Nambucca Heads.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Assist with all phases of the engagement from planning, tailoring, and executing audit procedures either on-site or remotely, to completion documentation and reporting.

Establishing strong relationships with clients to maintain and drive on-going engagements.

Completing auditing activities and working papers for review, ensuring jobs are completed effectively and within agreed budget and time-frames.

Liaise directly with clients to communicate audit requirements and findings.

Assisting in preparing business reports and management letters for clients to highlight key issues and recommended actions.

Assistance with special projects as needed.

Successful candidates will have:

Accounting degree or a related degree

Completed or working towards completing your CA or CPA qualification

A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in external audit

The ability to problem solve and undertake research of accounting and auditing issues

An strong understanding of the Australian auditing and accounting standards.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Personable and approachable personality with a desire to help clients and develop strong relationships

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment

CaseWare software experience or similar audit file technology is highly regarded, but not essential

Familiar with accounting software (including Xero, MYOB and industry specific software)

Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite

The ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, with a strong focus on client service

An interest and passion to work with not-for-profit clients (previous experience with NFP's highly regarded)
