Job description

Overview of role : Join Coliban Water as a Process Operations Engineer and help deliver safe, efficient wastewater treatment for our community.

Key Responsibilities :

As our Process Operations Engineer, you’ll be accountable for :

  • Implementing strategies to enable achievement of sewage treatment objectives and related customer service objectives.
  • Building and maintain operational knowledge of Coliban Water sites by regular on-site meetings and engagement with operators.
  • Developing and implementing management systems associated with sewage treatment systems, identifying business improvements and risk management opportunities.
  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory and Essential Services Commission (ESC) standards, including performance analysis and reporting.
  • Optimise, document and maintain business decision methodologies. Contribute to the development of underlying risk factors to that make consequence, likelihood and mitigation factor tangible.
  • Assisting in the development of Asset Management System (AMS) and plans that create the best value for money for operational, maintenance and renewal activities.
  • Providing technical expertise in the areas of sewage treatment and general water quality.
  • Wastewater process optimisation including power and chemical savings efficiencies.

About you :

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in Operations Engineering for water and / or wastewater treatment, networks, and management.
  • A tertiary degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, especially in collaboration with contract partners.
  • Skilled in planning and executing management strategies to enhance performance, risk management, quality, and customer experience.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset focused on delivering customer and community outcomes and overcoming obstacles.

    Salary :

    The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4, $93,548 – $112,895 + Superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
