Cyber Security Lead, Technical Lead, and Architecture Lead, EL1, Digital ID (EA2025 / 208)

What You Will Do Within The Digital Delivery Branch

Within the Digital Delivery Branch, we are seeking to fill several EL1 leadership positions across key functional teams. These roles offer an opportunity to lead specialist areas that contribute to the design, development, and secure operation of technology services at the ACCC.

Architecture Lead - Architecture & Cyber Security

  • Develop and maintain high and low-level architectural designs that ensure scalability, performance and security.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.
  • Oversee technology stack selection, coding standards and best practices to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Plan for scalability, performance optimisation and ongoing architectural refinement.
  • Ensure designs incorporate robust security controls in partnership with the Cyber Security function.
  • Manage architectural documentation, risks, compliance and resource planning to meet project goals.

Cyber Security Lead - Architecture & Cyber Security

  • Lead and develop the cyber security function including operations, threat management and incident response.
  • Identify and mitigate cyber risks impacting digital delivery and operations.
  • Partner with development teams to integrate security practices throughout solution design and delivery.
  • Define, maintain and communicate internal cyber security standards, policies and procedures.
  • Manage cyber operations including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security tooling.
  • Oversee relationships with external service providers, ensuring SLAs and performance targets are met.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, technologies, best practices and implement operational reporting on security metrics.
  • Technical Lead - Technology Development

  • Provide technical guidance to development teams to deliver maintainable, scalable and high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement solutions aligned with business and architectural objectives.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design principles, and testing practices.
  • Oversee quality assurance, documentation and incident management processes.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support agile delivery practices, ensuring alignment with architectural and organisational goals.
  • Drive automation, process optimisation and technical excellence across development and deployment activities.
  • About You

    This position requires candidates to demonstrate strong leadership, technical capability, and collaboration skills consistent with the ILS.

  • Architecture Lead

  • Demonstrated experience developing and governing enterprise and solution architectures across complex technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of architectural frameworks, standards and design principles to support scalable, secure and maintainable solutions.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into technical direction and drive alignment across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Cyber Security Lead

  • Proven expertise in cyber security leadership, including threat detection, incident response and vulnerability management.
  • Experience managing and optimising security tools and platforms such as SIEM, endpoint detection and monitoring systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber risk management, security governance and compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.
  • Technical Lead

  • Demonstrated experience leading development teams using Microsoft technologies including Azure cloud services, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, React and .NET / C#.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, automation, coding standards and quality assurance practices.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, technical excellence and innovation within agile delivery environments.
  • Highly Desirable Qualifications And Certifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications or relevant Microsoft technology accreditations (e.g. Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power BI).
  • Certification or demonstrated knowledge of enterprise architecture or service management frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL), where applicable to the role.
  • Familiarity with, or certification in, recognised security standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO / IEC 27001, NIST, ISM, ASD Essential Eight Maturity Model), where applicable to the role.
  • The successful candidate must also hold, or be able to attain and maintain, a minimum of a Baseline Security Clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.

    Salary

    EL1 $123,702 - $136,900 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
